22 Aug OOH Reaches Highest Quarterly Growth In Over a Decade!
Fueled by the highest quarterly growth the industry has experienced since 2007, the Out of home (OOH) industry increased 7% in 2019. OOH advertising reaches its highest quarterly growth in over a decade in the second quarter! OOH advertising revenue rose 7.7% in the second quarter of 2019, compared to the previous year.
Over one-quarter of the top 100 OOH advertisers who increased the amount they spend on OOH including Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, and Google have successfully made over double the amount they spent on OOH last year.
According to OAAA President & CEO Nancy Fletcher, the strong quarterly growth occurred across all major OOH channels and digital OOH, representing 31% of total OOH revenue in the second quarter. This has successfully reached 66% of US travelers taking action on their smartphones after exposure to an OOH advertisement. By generating engagement in the real world, according to OAAA’s chief marketing officer Stephen Freitas, OOH’s value to brands is stronger than ever.
